I had something else started for today's Burning Itch, but then this intolerant troglodyte nearly won the Iowa GOP primary. . .

I see it like this: If Santorum keeps saying stupid things, Obama will be elected for sure!

Fingers crossed for that.

Even with all the primaries he's been winning, I can't see him getting the nomination. It seems all he's interested in is courting the values voters. Romney might be the Republican equivalent of John Kerry, but at least Kerry actually got his party's nomination.

I think the whole media frenzy over Santorum is purely to draw attention to an actually dull non-race. Romney is rolling to his inevitable win -- his delegate lead is insurmountable now.

This is fucking GOLD.
And you raise a lot of great points in there. Especially the third, sixth, and seventh panels.

I sincerely hope that Obama wins the election. I mean, the odds are still in his favour, right?

Anyway, fantastic comic. /salute.

Thanks so much!

Fingers crossed the current batch Republicans keep racing toward that cliff. . . .

I've decided that if Santorum wins anything, there's nowhere on earth that I'm going to feel comfortable being. Canada is too close, I really don't like the heat so Mexico is out...maybe I'll go to Iceland. Do you think that's far enough?

In all seriousness, this man scares the hell out of me. I've been watching his debates and the news spots on him for a while now and I just can't wrap my head around how anyone with a rational thought process could possibly find what this man has to say to be anything more than utter BS. His stance on anything significant aren't even justifiable let alone his take on what a civil right is, or should be. Also, I like your strip here lol. It's a very clever title and I love the rough sketchy lines you use and how it's very "comic" without the loss of reality in anatomy. You also make valid arguments and can still be humorous about it, very hard to find these days. :)

Thank you so much for the kind compliments and thoughtful feedback.

I heard a quote about Santorum a while back: "He has a fine mind. . . for the 12th century."

He's incredibly regressive and scary as a result.

He may very well be our next VP so get used to that.

It's very unlikely Romney would want Santorum on the ticket and even less likely Romney will be able to motivate the GOP base to oust Obama. While I don't think your President will have an easy time getting re-elected, the GOP primaries are doing a good job motivating the Democrat base and pushing the actual Liberals to support him despite how centrist he's been in office.

Gingrich bringing up race, Santorum attacking gender equality and education and Mitt as shieldmaiden for the 1% have been a near-cartoon of the worst Republican clichés. Even the top GOP insiders are looking toward 2016.
