Finally getting something of a daily routine back, which shows in my having regular blog entries up since March.

My Zuda reviews have returned and I've started what I hope will be an ongoing series of reviews and recommendations of art books. I started with Bridgman's drawing books.

Keeping a Breast. . .

I've been busy as can be these last few months, but I can't share any of what I've been doing until other things happen. I will be posting a few odds and ends later this week as things seem to be calming/slowing down a bit.

One thing that has been on my mind is brushes, since I've had to do some traditional inking these last few weeks.

I've always used W&N series 7 -- sizes ranging from 2-5.

I've heard other people praising other brands as actually being better to ink with.

So, I'm curious, what brushes do you use and why?

Thanks to the efforts of Francis Manapul [link] and Marcio Takara [link] Toronto had it's first Drink and Draw this past Wednesday.

I attended, but I think I did more talking than drinking or drawing. . . .

I'll try to do better next week. That's right, looks like we're going to try this weekly (yay).

Drawing stuff




Decided to talk about real drawing fundamentals on my blog in addition to the other stuff I do there. Starting with a little preamble about what I plan to do.

Next up will likely be me babbling on about how sketchbooks are important, then I'll actually get to offering a few exercises for the art students that they're unlikely to get anywhere else. . . .
